Unique cattle/bison ranch & nature preserve offering working vacations with rustic accommodations. On a remote, 103,000-acre working bison, cattle and horse ranch and nature preserve owned by the Nature Conservancy, this upscale all-inclusive retreat is 6 miles from Zapata Falls and 5 miles from Medano Creek. Rustic-chic rooms are decorated in Southwestern style, with exposed log walls and wood furnishings. Lodge rooms (in a building from the 1800s) have en suite baths and mountain views. Bunkhouse rooms add separate entrances, and 1 house has a fireplace, a pool table and a private patio. All meals and horseback rides, cattle drives, herd management and nature hikes are included in the nightly rate (3-night minimum).
