Nestled in Pere Marquette State Park, this quaint wood-and-stone lodge dating from the Depression era is a 6-minute walk from the Illinois River and a 16-minute walk from McAdams Peak. The warm, rustic rooms in the main lodge and the adjacent cabins offer free Wi-Fi, cable TV and coffeemakers. Some add pull-out sofas, bunk beds and/or fireplaces, as well as river or park views. Parking is free. Amenities include a cozy American restaurant, a winery and a bar, plus an indoor pool, an exercise room and a life-sized chess set.
